Deep Gold Live: Shower Scene

Why are shower scenes necessary in most movies? It ain’t like its “Psycho” where the scene propels the plot to reach its ultimate end. Besides the fleshy appreciation derived from such shots, audiences are left to wonder what substance this brings into the plot.

Like sex scenes, they’re fundamentally fillers and market pleasers. It largely depends on the target demographic the film’s focusing on. With action/suspense films, the target market is highly predictable. Most of the time it’s the 18-45 year old male crowd who enjoys action flicks and the flesh attached to it. This crowd of testosterone filled brains has allotted a hefty amount of disposable income to satiate their thirst for flesh.

The scenes bring in more greenery (not whitish) substance to the production company and with it, countless (highly dependent on the amount of skin shown) eyeballs to the screen.

It is art, so they say. Again, don’t take my word for it, just my 2 cents on the whole phenomenal trend shower scenes have shown over the years. I for one am included within the ranks of the 18-45year old flesh hungry crowd – and a proud member at that.

In this scene, Bebe Pham cleans away all the dirt collected through her hard day’s work. Guess searching for your missing boyfriend and gazillions worth of gold’s a bit too much for our heroine.

Sorry guys, that's all you're going to see...
Just watch the film when it's released,
perhaps you'll
see more of Bebe

Welcome to Deep Gold Live!

To usher in our live coverage of Deep Gold the movie, here's the trailer:

Synopsis

Shortly after Cebuano freediver Amy Sanchez breaks an important freediving record, her boyfriend - Philippine Air Force Pilot Tony - mysteriously vanishes together with a flight that is supposed to bring millions of dollars worth of gold to the Central Bank in Manila.

Determined to discover the truth, she goes off with her sister to find out.

Is Tony actually dead? Or if not, is the man she loved really part of the plot to steal the gold? But she has no idea that she is about to discover the unexpected, and entangles herself in a web of lies and deceit before she finds out that somebody used her for what turns out to become a much larger conspiracy.

Deep Gold Live: Underwater Fight Scene

F
ight
scenes are one of those obligatory scenes that’s incorporated in to every major/minor film release and TV shows. The staple method on presenting two opposing forces -- the clash of the plot’s antagonist and protagonist where mostly the story climax occurs.

Such scenes entails numerous sessions of rehearsals to achieve a fail-safe approach. One of them deals with both off-set and on-set rehearsals. The former is where the stunt coordinator demontstrates the scene with body doubles and actors. And at the same time, the director and cameraman studies the best framing angle for the shots as well as the best movement and action for the scene. The latter is more of the same, the difference is, it’ll be done on the actual set piece as the backdrop while the camera rolls.

Bigfoot's water tank in Mactan Cebu

Below, posted production pics shot at the water tank here in Mactan Cebu. The pool was specifically designed for underwater shots, may it be photo shoots or film. If you look closely, pool windows were
strategically placed on various areas of the tank enabling cameramen and photographers take advantage of great views to capture that ‘moment’.

Deep Gold Live: Bebe Pham

To all those unfamiliar with Deep Gold's star, Bebe Pham, posted the link to her multiply page right here and a glimpse of what's in store for those drooling-on-keyboard male demographic.

Took the liberty to post some of her pics from the site. Truly, a stunning Asian beaut.

S
ex
scenes are staples in any mainstream film. It puts plot plasters on romantic gaping holes drowned with action and suspense and by far the best approach to ease and calm the senses after witnessing countless chase scenes and fight scenes.

Noticed the placements of these scenes in movies? Most are shown right before the climax (of the plot, not the ‘stimulating
activity’ mentioned) -- as for Deep Gold, can’t say till we watch the film.

However, in some cases, sex scenes are shown in an entirely tangled sequence. How about the numerous James Bond flicks over the past three decades? The film throws sex scenes randomly, and for what? To portray James Bond’s a horny English spy with extremely high levels of testosterone?

I’m merely echoing what we always have known, sex sells and Deep Gold is no exception.

For the third entry of Deep Gold Half Live, I present to you the scene where guys can appreciate more of the beauty that is Bebe Pham, and for those lingering on the third air of sexuality, Jack’s
character goes half naked.

Below you’ll see ‘exxxclusive’ behind the scene picks for ‘that’ scene a lot of people would surely appreciate. The necessity of it may be questionable on so many fronts, but as the classic argument of any filmmaker, the scene is both an art and a requirement for plot advancement – right.

I’m not complaining though, as long as they cast women oozing with sexiness and perfect physique, my sight will ever long be stuck on the screen and appreciate the ‘art’ and the great lengths filmmakers go through for ‘plot advancement’.

here we see Bebe and Jack doing their 'thang'...
and according to 'inside' information, Jack was actually self-conscious

Deep Gold Live: Palawan Shoot

(You can visit Deep Gold's official site right here)

O
n
location in Palawan, production was able to (amazingly) shoot two scenes on a single day
(May 29, 2008). What makes it impressive's that these scenes weren’t just run of the mill types.

One scene entailed labyrinthine coordination between three shot angles: one from within the yacht that Bebe Pham was in, the second coming from the chopper, and the third on a hill at a nearby island. Everything had to be well coordinated, well timed.

The trick? They ingeniously used mobile phones to signal one another through phone calls and of course the age-old trusted radio for added coordination.

a beautiful shot of the chopper

notice the big round nose?

Amazing film technology utilized here. The chopper cam
can be properly maneuvered and operated by only a handful of people.

Here's a shot from the chopper and the guy on the left uses
that piece of equipment to operate the chopper camera. Neat stuff.

some technical stuff regarding the scene

That tight leather suit just looks oh so good on Amy (Bebe Pham)

island for an added shot angle

On top of the platform...

Here is the diving championship scene where Amy wins and is witnessed by the locals -- this, ladies and gents is 'the' first scene of the movie. Don't you just love the power of film editing?

Production had to hire some local fishermen to populate the scene.

Deep Gold Live: Rain Machine

Here's a scene shot on May 9th of this year. The production team had to wait for nightfall to shoot this scene and set up they're own rain producing contraption. As well as the meticulous job of light recreation.

The scene presents Amy's (Bebe Pham) desperation to talk to her boyfriend, Tony, after the
sudden disappearance of his plane and the package being delivered (not 'his package', but the gold, darn homo pervs).

Sadly, Amy somehow just couldn't make the call (perhaps a change of network provider
should've done the trick) and the rain just made it oh so more dramatic and melancholic.

here's a bird's eye view of the set
